Established On God's Word
We are a non-denominational, Spirit-filled church in West - Northwest Houston. We emphasize solid Bible teaching, the power of the Holy Spirit, a sincere desire to reach the lost, and the love of God between us all.

Meet Our Pastors
Chas & Joni Stevenson are the pastors of Houston Faith Church. They are the founders of the church and also Stevenson Ministries, which is the pastors' traveling ministry.
Our History
Houston Faith Church began in Sept. 2002, when Chas & Joni followed the leading of God and knew that it was time to begin a great gospel work in Houston. With no church members, but only a dream and a vision, they sent word out to a few people that might need a home church...

Kids Church
The Children enjoy a fun and powerful experience in God's Word and with each other. We are committed to helping Christ be formed in our babies, toddlers, and kids.
Each Kid's Church room has state-of-the-art doors with key fob-only access, and each child gets checked in through an easy-to-use kiosk and only checked out by adults who have been assigned permission ensuring your kids are safe while having fun growing in the Lord.
Youth Ministry
Houston Faith Church has an awesome youth group that meets every Wednesday during the regular service time.
Our desire is that the youth are on fire for God, develop solid and lasting relationships with Jesus, that they learn how to overcome the world and the devil, and learn how to live by faith.

We have what we call "Grow Classes" almost every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00 before the regular service. We also have classes on other nights of the week occasionally.
You can check which classes are happening on our Church Calendar.
You'll see people dressed in every style of clothing in every service: "smart" casual, business casual, very casual, semi-formal, formal. Many people will take it a notch down on Wednesday nights.
We recognize that the Lord doesn't need to see you dressed in any particular way, so as long as you wear something, come to church as you are! We also teach that looking decent on purpose is part of the Christian life of considering one another and honoring one another in public, but that can be done without a dress code.
We usually play modern contemporary worship music, but we have been known to sing hymns and old songs from time to time.
No Spanish services---however, we have Spanish translation available for every service via headsets / live interpreter.
Great things happen at every church service! God's power happens. God's love is seen. Jesus Christ is lifted up. And the Holy Spirit gets a chance to move in our lives. Not only that, but the Word is preached, faith comes, hope is revived, and purpose is found. The heavens are the limit, so come expecting!
You might see things happen like the laying on of hands for healing or deliverance.
You may hear people speaking in tongues.
You may see people touched by His power, and they might be laughing, crying, running, kneeling, laying on the ground, or just standing with lifted hands.
And hopefully, you'll see people saved by Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit and power.
DETAILS:
First, you'll arrive at the parking lot where our Faith Tram, driven by a very joyful church servant, will be available to pick you and your family up at your car and drop you off near the door (if you wish, of course).
Next, you'll enter our Lobby from one of two entrances and be welcomed by several sincere and loving saints. They are there to help answer any questions if you need them.
As you enter the sanctuary, our Ushers will be available to help you find a seat. And you are free to remain in the sanctuary or head back to the Lobby to look around.
Gospel music will begin the service, where people will be singing, shouting, praising the Lord, and some bouncing around a bit in their worship toward God. If it's more going on that you're familiar with, just watch and enjoy!
Next, there'll be some announcements and church offering received, as people honor the Lord with their substance (Proverbs 3:9,10).
Next comes the teaching and preaching by our Pastors or guest preachers. This is where the Word of God becomes food for your soul and where the Holy Spirit begins to teach you the things of God and reveal God's will for your life.
You will have an opportunity to receive exactly what you need from the Lord, so be courageous when that time comes, and follow the instructions for receiving salvation or coming forward to the altar for prayer and ministry.
We care about God's people, so just know that we are sincere about church and gospel ministry, and we're following the Bible very tightly so that everyone is safe, loved, and touched by God in a real way.
Yes, we do. Jesus said everyone who believes the gospel "will speak with new tongues" (Mark 16:17). In the book of Acts, everyone who was filled with God's Spirit spoke with tongues (Acts 2:4, 10:36, 19:6). Not everyone will speak in tongues in a church service for a message to be interpreted, but all can pray in tongues privately (1 Cor. 14:2, 4, 14).
Praying in tongues is a great benefit and spiritual resource that gives Spirit-filled Christians a great advantage in life over the world, over sin, and over the devil.
Yes, we do. And we see people healed---some instantly and some over a short period of time.
Healing has always been part of the gospel, so we keep it taught and preached so people's faith is alive and ready for it. Jesus healed all who came to Him. And Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And Jesus went ... teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people (Mat 4:23).
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38).
We are very scriptural here. So everything we teach and preach must be confirmed accurately in the New Testament. So, yes, women can be teachers and leaders.
The scriptures that have been used to silence women in churches have nothing to do with a mandate from God about which gender is called into pulpit ministry. Rather, those scriptures are in the context of keeping order in the marriage relationship...that the wife should not usurp authority over her husband. The word "women" should be translated "wives" and the word "man" should be translated "husband". Then it would be clear.
The scriptures never say that wives cannot be a pastor or preach the gospel. It actually says in the Bible that they cannot "speak" at all! (1 Cor 14:34). Obviously, some right interpretation is needed.
We have the complete teaching on the subject, so if you're interested, find it on the website or email us. But the only scriptural conclusion we can arrive at is that IF THE LORD HAS PLACED A TEACHING GIFT UPON A WOMAN, IT IS GOOD, AND IT IS GOD'S WILL. AND WE SHOULD WANT TO BENEFIT FROM IT.
New Testament examples of women preachers, prophets, pastors, teachers:
Acts 1:13,14, Acts 2:17-18, Acts 21:9, John 4:28, Rom 16:3, Acts 18:26, Rom 16:7, Phi 4:2-3
Men who think they cannot learn from a woman or submit to a woman in leadership have real personal problems that they need to work through.
Because we've got great books, Bibles and teaching that you can take home with you!
We all need supplemental resources to help us grow in faith. Jesus didn't leave us alone with a Bible, by ourselves, to learn God's Word. Rather, Jesus ascended to heaven and then gave GIFTS UNTO MEN (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers), to edify the church and perfect the saints (Eph 4:12). And these gifts are found in the wonderful books and media that we carry in the Faith Store.
Not only are Pastor Chas and Joni's books and teachings in the store, but we offer many hand-selected books from other ministers that everyone should benefit from.
But Jesus overturned the money changers who were buying and selling in the temple?
Yes He did. But what they were doing was trying to profit off of Jewish sacrifices, up-selling the doves and animals that Jews needed to make atonement for sins (Jews that had traveled far without their sacrifices had no option but to pay the higher fees). Jesus called them a "den of thieves" because they were corrupting the temple with dishonest business instead of keeping it a place of prayer, "My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves" (Mark 11:17).
1) The church today is not comparable to the temple then. WE are the temple of God, and it is WE who are to be "houses" of prayer, communing with God inside our spirits. WE are to be honest and clean.
2) He was not saying that nothing can be sold at church assemblies (kids can sell cookies, churches can sell logo shirts for the sake of camaraderie and unity, and churches can sell Bibles and books).
3) Bibles and books have a cost to produce, and they also have a great value. Those who value spiritual things have no problem spending money on them. To be upset about Bibles and books being sold in churches implies that buying them from public stores is better. But that doesn't make any sense. By churches offering their own products, they are able to distinguish their recommendations for accurate doctrine and most edifying resources.
4) What our Faith Store does is provide spiritual growth for people at their own discretion. We are not dishonest thieves, forcing people to buy so we can profit. Though the years, more resources have been given for free than were ever sold.
